Introduction

The course “(PGPE) Planning and Management of Protection at Events (Advanced Course, Diploma or Expert)” offers comprehensive training focused on the design, implementation and supervision of security arrangements applied to public and private events. Developed and delivered by A-GLOSS, this program addresses the technical and operational challenges posed by high-attendance scenarios —such as conferences, concerts, institutional meetings, corporate events, shows and official ceremonies— where the protection of attendees and dignitaries requires strategic planning, interinstitutional coordination and professional protocols.

The course develops competences to analyze risks, manage vulnerabilities, coordinate human and technological resources, and implement prevention and response plans for incidents, ensuring the normal progression of the event and the physical integrity of participants. Operational standards-based courses of action are applied, strengthening a professional approach to security in dynamic, high-exposure environments.

Methodology

The course combines theoretical modules with a focus practical and applied, integrating operational tools, case analyses and activities aimed at decision-making in real scenarios.

Includes:

  • Initial list of topics and exercises that make up each module of the program.

  • Content in web format with educational resources (texts, images, graphics and supplementary material).

  • Situational analysis of real events and resolution of operational scenarios using risk matrices.

  • Design of comprehensive security plans: prevention, control, response and contingencies.

  • Preparation of command structures, deployment planning and operational coordination.

  • Protocols for access control, restricted areas, circulation, evacuation and crisis.

  • Integration of technological and human resources: surveillance, video surveillance, communications and operational control.

  • Support documents for reading and analysis (articles, technical guides, videos, specialized bibliography).

  • Self-assessments at the end of each content to reinforce key concepts.

  • Individualized tutoring for ongoing support to consolidate knowledge and skills.

  • Forums and messaging for interaction with instructors for inquiries and issue resolution.

  • Completion of an individual assignment or final integrative exercise focused on operational planning.
